At Testimony Feeding Center and Testimony Tour and Travel, we believe in the power of combining philanthropy and exploration. Our NGO has been providing support to children in need through our feeding center, and through our tour and travel company, we offer an opportunity for volunteers to experience the breathtaking beauty of Ethiopia while making a positive impact on the lives of these children. Volunteering at Testimony Feeding Center:

Our recent group of volunteers, a team of enthusiastic boys and girls from Italy, brought boundless energy and love to our children at the Testimony Feeding Center. From preparing delicious meals to engaging in playful activities, teaching classes, and so much more, these dedicated individuals made a lasting impact on the lives of the children they supported. Their selfless act of kindness created an environment of warmth, joy, and growth for our kids.

Exploring the Splendors of Southern Ethiopia:

With the aim of providing a rewarding experience for our volunteers, we arranged a tour to some of the most stunning destinations in southern Ethiopia. Let’s delve into the highlights of their journey, which showcased the natural wonders and cultural richness of this captivating country.

Wondo Genet Hot Springs:

Nestled amidst lush greenery, the Wondo Genet Hot Springs offered our volunteers a tranquil retreat. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, they immersed themselves in the warm, healing waters, rejuvenating their spirits and forging deeper connections with one another.

Abijata-Shalla Lakes National Park:

A visit to the Abijata-Shalla Lakes National Park was a feast for the senses. Our volunteers marveled at the immense beauty of the shimmering lakes, witnessing a diverse array of bird species and wildlife. The ethereal sight of flocks of flamingos painting the horizon in hues of pink was a memory that will forever remain etched in their minds.

Hawasa Lake:

Wondo Genet Waterfalls:

Continuing our journey through Ethiopia, our volunteers were captivated by the vibrant city of Addis Ababa. As they explored the bustling streets and vibrant markets, they were immersed in the rich cultural tapestry that defines this remarkable city. From savoring traditional Ethiopian cuisine to dancing to the rhythmic beats of local music, our volunteers embraced the spirit of Addis Ababa with open hearts.

One of the highlights of our previous experience was visiting the ancient city of Axum. Steeped in history and myth, Axum is home to towering obelisks and ancient ruins that speak to Ethiopia’s majestic past. Our volunteers marveled at the intricate carvings and grandeur of the Stelae Park, where they learned about the ancient Kingdom of Axum and its significance in Ethiopian history.

Next, our journey took us to the breathtaking Simien Mountains National Park. Trekking through the rugged terrain, our volunteers were rewarded with awe-inspiring views of jagged peaks and deep valleys. The park is a sanctuary for diverse wildlife, including the endangered Ethiopian wolf and the majestic Gelada baboon. Our volunteers were humbled by the beauty and fragility of this unique ecosystem, realizing the importance of conservation efforts in preserving Ethiopia’s natural wonders.

As our volunteers reached the final leg of their journey, they found themselves in the mystical land of Lalibela. After experiencing the natural wonder of Lake Abijata, our volunteers returned to the vibrant heart of Addis Ababa and embarked on an unforgettable culinary journey at Yod Abyssinia Ethiopian Traditional Restaurant. Established in 2003, this iconic establishment holds the distinction of being one of the city’s first and most renowned traditional restaurants.

Yod Abyssinia Traditional Restaurant takes immense pride in showcasing Ethiopian hospitality through an array of delectable dishes, traditional dances, and captivating music. As our volunteers stepped foot into the restaurant, they were enveloped by an ambiance that celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Ethiopia.

The visionary behind this culinary gem is Ato Tizazu Kore, who hails from the Gurage ethnic group. The name “Yod” holds profound significance within the Gurage culture, symbolizing the act of witnessing or speaking out. It serves as a reminder of the importance of sharing stories, traditions, and experiences, allowing them to endure across generations.

Moreover, the name “Abyssinia” evokes a sense of historical grandeur. In ancient times, both Ethiopia and the broader region known as the Horn of Africa were referred to as Abyssinia. This historical connection adds depth and allure to Yod Abyssinia Traditional Restaurant, further enriching the experience for all who dine there.

As our volunteers sat down to savor the flavors of Ethiopia, they were treated to a culinary expedition like no other. The menu showcased a diverse range of traditional Ethiopian dishes, each prepared with meticulous care and authentic ingredients.
